Fraxel® DUAL Skin Resurfacing
Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 is an advanced non-ablative laser treatment for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. The treatment uses two lasers at 1550 nm and 1927 nm wavelengths and optical technology to create thousands of microscopic laser columns to treat a fraction of the skin without affecting the surrounding tissue. These microscopic wounds stimulate the body’s healing process, which includes collagen production, to replace damaged skin with new tissue. This process can help repair:
Because Fraxel® DUAL 1550/1927 is a non-ablative treatment, you can expect a sensation of heat during the procedure. A topical anesthetic applied before and cold air utilized during the procedure will help minimize any discomfort. Treatments take about two hours, with approximately 30 minutes of laser time, for the full face. In addition, other areas are routinely treated, such as the neck, chest, hands, and arms.
After the procedure, many patients experience a stinging sensation similar to a sunburn, which usually lasts one to three hours. Any residual redness, minor itching, peeling, flaking, or the bronzing of skin only last a few days. There is essentially no social downtime after a treatment, but the best results occur with three to five sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
